POINT PLEASANT BEACH’S HISTORIC LIFEBOAT STATION 105 OPENS ITS DOORS

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The Point Pleasant Beach Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) in partnership with Lifeboat Station 105 will host its inaugural open house on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 24 Inlet Drive, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Lifeboat Station 105 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that will serve as stewards and building managers of the historic former U.S. Coast Guard lifeboat station. The open house marks the first time the public will have access to the building and see the space as it stands today, understand the vision, and become part of the story.
A highlight of the open house will be a community photo scanning initiative. Residents and community members are encouraged to bring personal photographs connected to the station's Coast Guard history. The HPC will scan and digitally archive submitted images as part of an ongoing effort to build a permanent historical record of the site. Attendees can also record a 'Digital Time Capsule' video entry, preserving their personal memories and connection to this landmark for future generations.

The long-term vision for Lifeboat Station 105 includes space for the Point Pleasant Beach Historical Society’s museum exhibits, a cafe, second-floor meeting and event spaces, and a year-round community gathering place that reflects Point Pleasant Beach's deep coastal heritage.
